Melissa has been a Registered Nurse for 23 years working in different facets of health care and employed at a local hospital for the last 24 years. She is a 500 RYT certified Yoga instructor and a LMBT certified massage therapist.
As a Massage and Bodywork therapist, it is her intention to offer you a gentle (even if you are receiving deep tissue or trigger point release work) massage experience that will leave you feeling longer, more spacious, grounded and at the very least extremely relaxed.
You could describe Melissa’s work as “Integrative”, meaning addressing what it is your body needs on the day you arrive. Having trained and raced triathlons, mountain bikes and endurance running along with the extensive study of anatomy and physiology, massage and yoga training, Melissa uses this knowledge to help her clients find ease and harmony within their body. With every client, she offers her whole heart into every session she delivers. Melissa will be offering Medi-cupping, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point, Thai Yoga and Swedish massage to nurture the mind, body and spirit.
As a massage therapist, my first concern is your comfort. I hope to create a space that puts you at ease. Where you can allow yourself to receive the benefits of the bodywork.
The massage therapy I offer is an intuitive integrative balance of multiple elements I have learned over 21 years. As I begin your session, I am guided by your body and spirit, allowing me to access a deeper sense of what is necessary to bring about the best outcome at that time.
The physical pressure will be fashioned to your comfort and to what you are hoping to achieve.
I feel that it is not so much about training received, but the experience and heart-centered care that I bring to your massage therapy experience.
Joanna/Pavan Priya Kaur Randolph has shared her therapeutic and intuitive yoga style from the mountains of North Carolina to the beaches of Belize, Central America. She creates accessible, fluid practices that emphasize energy, breath, body flow & core stabilization. Bringing her own style and personality to the mat, she incorporates hatha, yoga, vinyasa, qigong & kundalini yoga techniques.
Plant and energy medicines are Joanna’s primary passions. Looking to raise the vibrational frequency of her student’s and client’s, she accesses their inner radiance, innate balance and intuitive harmony. Joanna is also a licensed esthetician, herbal medicine maker and pendulum dowser. When performing esthetic services, such as, her signature facials or scalp and sinus treatments, Joanna’s approach is holistic and healing. She returned to our mountains in 2018, with her own plant based, spa quality skincare line, Botanica Belize Wildcrafted Skincare. She is so very pleased to share her yoga and her medicinal plant magick with the LEY community.
Cassandra brings 18 years of dedication, curiosity and knowledge to every exceptional, personal massage therapy session. Her love of learning has led her to explore many massage modalities. Cassandra most recently received her 100 HR Certification in Esalen massage, which will continue to be the core of her practice.
With Esalen massage, the receiver can expect unhurried, long, flowing strokes from head to toe and back again. The full pressure of the therapist's hands or forearms deepen as the body begins to decompress and the mind becomes quiet. Focused work is done using various techniques from modalities such as craniosacral, deep tissue, shiatsu and reiki. Esalen's slow movements can help the receiver to recognize any habitual patterns being held in the body or mind and invites deeper softening and relaxation creating a fuller sense of well being.
Sue began her study in massage at Kripalu Holistic Health center back in 1982. She is passionate about helping people feel the best they can with the help of massage therapy. Her journey led her to study and become certified in Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Medical Massage. She describes her work as "intuitive" with an emphasis on the muscles and nerves. Experience her bodywork and let your muscle tension melt away. She is also a realtor helping people find what they are looking for and helping them release what no longer serves them.
In her spare time Sue enjoys spending time hiking, helping out at her friends goat farm and spending time with her family.
Having worked as a professional actor for over 20 years, I have learned a lot about the demands we place on our bodies, and what we need to do to create and maintain balance. I trained in France at a school focused on physical theatre, movement, and creation. There I gained great insight into how the body works and how best to move through space for both dynamic and practical ends.
Together with the client, I do a full evaluation of both occupation and lifestyle along with the goals in seeking massage therapy, to tailor an experience that is right for each individual. Be it pure relaxation, improved body dynamics, or focused work to alleviate a condition.
This work can be beneficial for everyone, as it helps to recognize areas where we are blocked, and works to release the body to its full potential.
My areas of expertise include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai massage and Modern Cupping Therapy. I integrate other modalities as I see fit, as needed in the sessions. I have been practicing for 14 years as a therapist and continue to do continuing education to learn more to increase my capacities as a healer.
I started my journey into the world of holistic care, self care, and healing arts 6 years ago with a 600 hr course in Ayurveda at the Asheville school of massage. That lead me to massage therapy where I dove into a year long course studying at AB Tech. I have been practicing massage therapy for 4 years now.
I believe it is important to maintain balance in the body through diet, lifestyle, and having regular bodywork sessions. I am currently enrolled in a yoga teacher training course as well as working on my reiki certification. I love being able to offer clients different modalities of healing because everybody is different. And everybody in every body needs healing.
Leanne graduated from Center for Massage and Natural Health in 2022 and is a licensed massage therapist in North Carolina. She recently completed her 100-hour Esalen certification, which she considers the foundation of her practice. Leanne is an integrative massage therapist, drawing from a variety of modalities to suit each person, and their specific needs. And also, being a doula, she especially enjoys working with pregnant and newly postpartum women.
Leanne believes in meeting each body where it is, approaching each session with presence, mindfulness, curiosity and compassion. She uses Esalen’s signature long flowing strokes over the whole body to create a sense of wholeness, connection and integration, passive joint movement, as well as compressions, gentle rocking and stretching, deep sculpting of the musculature, and stillness.
She considers her massage to be a creative collaboration between partners to reach a deep relaxation and balance of the nervous system. It is a welcoming of the body, and a meeting of where you are.
Leanne has been a DONA trained birth doula since 2014, and also offers postpartum doula support, providing women continuity of care and support throughout their pregnancy, labor and into the first tender weeks postpartum. She believes a well nurtured and supported woman makes a confident and strong mother, who is more able to trust and listen to her own intuition. As a mother of three daughters, Leanne believes women supporting women is the foundation to a better world.
Leanne completed her training in herbalism with a course by Rosemary Gladstar in 2017 and loves to grow her own herbs and create medicine and magick to support the health of her family.
Born and raised in Alaska, Leanne loves the mountains and is so thankful to call Western North Carolina home. In her spare time, you’ll find her hiking with her family, gardening, dancing, cooking, wrangling children and chickens, living as close to the earth as possible, and enjoying building her forever home on ten wooded acres in Tryon
